Innovation in Education

Digital Learning Management Corporation recently announced that it has released its new Virtual University Appliance (VU), a hardware and software all-in-one solution for creating and deploying e-Learning Portals, e-Learning Environments and e-Learning Ecosystems.

The VU Appliance is a complete state-of-the-art hardware and software solution incorporating the company’s Virtual University system. The system, or ‘appliance’ as it is referred to, allows traditional brick and mortar educational institutions and commercial organizations to create virtual e-learning environments very quickly and inexpensively. The appliance, which is a standard 1U rack mounted device, comes pre-configured with a range of the company’s software.

The appliance can accept content created in multiple formats and presents that content over the Internet or Intranet. Subject matter experts and faculty can now publish their own courses and have them reviewed by their peers and other instructional designers.

Schools, colleges, universities and faculty interested in online courses can access and review these courses for content and best-fit to significantly reduce the amount of time spent finding what they need. All at a price that is in most cases much less than traditional methods.
Blended Learning

Not all subjects can be taught in the same manner. Some subjects always require face-to-face interaction (synchronous learning) with an instructor and/or equipment while others can be taught with the student setting their own pace without real-time interaction with an instructor (asynchronous learning).

Blended learning mixes synchronous classroom meetings, web-based online tutorials, and web-cast forums to maximize the ‘Star’ instructors output.

Take online learning, mix in some streaming video, audio and other offline methods, and you have the latest wave in the booming web based instruction trend: blended learning. Blended learning can bring better results faster and cheaper than traditional methods.

One of the latest trends today revolves around the application of blended learning solutions. The idea behind blended learning is that you review a learning program, break it up into small units (modules), and determine the best medium to deliver those modules to the learner.

During the past few years the concept of blended training solutions has become a reality. Although education offered through traditional classroom courses is recognized for its high-quality, the pressure to deliver knowledge content via alternative, preferably Web-based, methods has produced exceptional results not previously projected.

Virtual University Systems

Virtual University Systems (VUS), a wholly-owned division of Digital Learning Management Corporation, provides e-learning solutions for both business and academic segments. The company’s main product, the Virtual University Appliance (VU Appliance), is a powerful multilingual learning management system that can be used by multinational corporations, schools, colleges and universities throughout the world. The product manages the entire learning process – from enrolling students and tracking their learning path and progress online to delivering online courses, tests, exams, assessments and reporting all associated costs. It is available as an ‘Appliance’ in various configurations and allows centralized Web-based E-Learning content and learner management for organizations or divisions/departments within larger organizations that want to get started with E-Learning with relatively little expense and in a short period of time.
The Virtual University Appliance

The Virtual University Appliance (VU Appliance) allows educators to quickly create 100% Web-based “Virtual” Learning Environments. The VU Appliance is a complete platform that lets educators create, publish and deliver courseware for e-Learning, and at the same time lets them manage their traditional classroom learning environment. The system is a fully integrated “end-to-end” enterprise learning system. It supports both online and classroom-based learning and combines robust Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS) functionality, giving the educators full control over the management and the use of the learning content.

Rather than a series of discreet courseware creation and publishing events categorized by delivery method, topic area or job function, the Virtual University Appliance blends the entire realm of learning and courseware development possibilities into a single integrated system. The result is a flexible content creation, content publishing and learning administration system capable of delivering the right learning services and content, at the right time, to the right individuals in the method desired. At the same time, the VU Appliance centralizes and automates the entire learning management process, making enterprise-wide learning and courseware development administration more efficient and cost-effective.

The System is extremely user-friendly and delivers Web-enabled management of registration, billing, scheduling, resource allocation and learner tracking. In addition to conforming with ADL/SCORM standards for content aggregation and learner tracking, The Virtual University System has advanced features for collaboration such as Classroom Chat Sessions, Discussion Forums and using 3rd part tools, it supports Audio Web-Casting, as well as delivery and management of stored Video streams. This System represents the latest technologies, from its expandable multi-platform Java-based applications and servers to its rich media capabilities.
