Media City Corp (Pink Sheets: MCCY) shares were up 5 percent this morning, rising to 21 cents a share by 9:00 a.m. CDT.The jump came right after the company announced that its subsidiary, Effective Control Trucking LLC, had landed a contract worth an excess of $16 million this morning. The contract covers the installation of Media City’s proprietary FOLO technology, a real-time truck monitoring system that allows employers to watch the state of their drivers while on the road, stay informed as to the mechanical state of the vehicles as they run, know where their vehicles are with GPS systems, and more.
Raphael Huppe, Media City’s president, expected great things from the contract.
“We are very excited to announce a very significant contract with a Canada-based motor freight company,” Huppe said in the release. “We will be installing 1,700 truck systems and 3,000 trailer systems; this gives us a total of $21.6 million in new FOLO systems contracts. Our team is hard at work and we expect to be able to announce more contracts in the short and long term. Because of our team’s high closing ratio, we are raising our internal sales forecasts for 2007 to $50 million.
“Our worldwide sales team is actively pursuing new international markets and we anticipate our success in Europe and Asia to be reflected on the top line before the end of 2007,” Huppe added.
