Team-ups aren’t uncommon in the Pink Sheets; companies will often group together for financial reasons or even mutual protection. But providing an important and largely public service? That’s not something most Pink Sheet companies are interested in – and that’s why what HumWare Media Corp. (Pink Sheets: HMWM) and Evans Systems Inc. (Pink Sheets: EVSY) is so revolutionary.According to the press release, Evans Systems placed a $4.6 million order with HumWare to create, develop and maintain a new digital Child Watch Network for Evans Systems over the course of the next five years. This new network will provide instantaneous updates on missing children alerts and “numerous advertising opportunities in retail outlets.” In addition, Evans Systems intends to implement an aggressive installation process that will reportedly place the network on “more than one thousand screens in retail venues across the nation.”
The Child Watch Network, a division of Evans Systems, expects annual revenues of more than $7 million. So far, Child Watch sponsors include Shell, Continental Airlines, Pizza Hut and Toys R Us.
If this partnership bears fruit, it could be an excellent step forward for both companies. Since both Evans Systems and HumWare are emerging Pink Sheets media companies, the kind of coverage that this new network might generate would increase their exposure ten-fold.
John Huemoeller II, CEO of HumWare Media, was thrilled that his company was working on the contract.
“We have worked diligently to build the infrastructure which allowed us to put this agreement in place and be able to deliver on the contract,” Huemoeller said in the release. “We look forward to working with the Evans System team to oversee the implementation and operation of the new network.”
Frank Moody, CEO of Evans Systems, was similarly thrilled.
“This collaborative effort has been extraordinary, and is excellent news for our shareholders,” Moody said. “HumWare’s digital signage expertise, along with their hardware solutions and software systems … will enable Evans to begin a rapid rollout of the new Child Watch Network across America.
“We are well-poised to begin fulfilling our development strategy,” Moody continued. “Details about our deployment plant and announcements of new relationships will be forthcoming.”
Share prices for HumWare Media shot up 16 percent after the news broke, going from .006 to .007. Prices for Evans Systems were largely unchanged, staying steady at 15 cents a share.
