Earlier today, ERF Wireless announced that its wholly owned private subsidiary Energy Broadband Inc. has initiated broadband wireless services to the Eagle Ford Shale drilling operations of a new major worldwide independent oil and gas company. The company also told investors that it has initiated a new network construction project with the intent of blanketing the majority of the Eagle Ford Shale region with high-speed terrestrial wireless broadband.
John Nagel, CEO of Energy Broadband, stated, “The Eagle Ford Shale region of South Texas is several hundred miles in length, extending from Victoria to the Rio Grande at the Mexican border. Over the past year, this area has become one of the most active new exploration and drilling regions in North America. Energy Broadband now has multiple customers for our wireless broadband services in this region.”
ERF Wireless has already established significant network coverage in the eastern and central portion of the Eagle Ford Shale, but has almost no coverage in the western portion which lacks wireless coverage from other carriers as well. To serve new oil and gas customers in this region, ERF Wireless intends to design and construct a new wireless broadband network that will cover approximately 25,000 square miles of territory with high capacity wireless coverage.
According to Dr. H. Dean Cubley, CEO of ERF Wireless, “This new network will give Energy Broadband a distinct advantage in the area since we will be the only source of terrestrial wireless broadband for the entire area. I’m extremely encouraged with this new network development, the new customers we are gaining each month, as well as the strong growth we experienced in our monthly oil and gas revenue in December.”
