Cortex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX: COR) released news this morning that after reviewing the Ampakine CX717 data package sent to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) division of Neurology Products in April, the company has received FDA response. According to the press release, the FDA permitted Cortex to resume studies in the CX717 Alzheimer’s positron emission tomography (PET) scan study at requested dose levels. Shares of Cortex rose 71 cents, or 27 percent, to $3.38 on volume of 1.59 million this morning.
Ableauctions.com (AMEX: AAC) announced today it expects to release its second-quarter results during the week of August 13, 2007. In the press release, the company said its revenue for the second quarter of 2007 is expected to increase more than 75 percent from the first quarter of this year. The company said it also expects its live auction divisions, iCollector and NAALive, to set a record number of auction sessions facilitated in a single quarter for the period ended June 30, 2007. Shares of Ableauctions were up 2 cents, 12 percent, to 20 cents on volume of 650,200 in Tuesday morning trading.
