Universal Detection Technology Corp. (UDTT.OB) Begins Marketing Anti MRSA Products Approved by the EPA

Universal Detection Technologies Corporation, well known for its bioterrorism monitoring and detection technology, announced that it has signed a deal to market a line of Anti-Microbial products that have been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Product is designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus (MRSA), E.coli, Norovirus, and Salmonella.

MRSA is usually transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact or contact with shared items or surfaces that have come into contact with someone else’s infection. It recently come into the spotlight when an MRSA infection was blamed for the death of a student at Western Washington University. MRSA is also commonly found in many nursing homes, elderly care and hospitals because of the close patient proximity and shared facilities.

This new product line, Vital Oxide, should see high demand, but the suitors are not the traditional customer that Universal Detection typically deals with, so a new online marketing campaign has begun to promote the line. Jacques Tizabi, CEO of UDTT commented on this situation, “The introduction of the new EPA approved anti-microbial spray and fogger to our product line, augments our current anti-microbial products and services.” He later added, “We will continue to market these products to all venues that are vulnerable to community-acquired MRSA. We expect that having our products EPA-approved will appeal to a larger customer base.”
