Provision Interactive Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Provision Holding, Inc., announced that one of the pending patents on its revolutionary technology have been allowed and issued by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Boosting Provision’s intellectual property in the U.S., the patent will allow the company to drive the application of 3D technology in the vending machine and self-service kiosk markets.
Originally filed in 2005, this patent for Provision’s 3D Holographic display is titled “System and Method for Dispensing Consumer Products” and protects vending machines and product dispensing kiosks when integrated with Provision’s 3D displays. According to today’s press release, this patent gives Provision great latitude in how 3D is incorporated into the vending machine and self-service kiosk markets.
“Imagine a 3D person greeting you when you conduct an ATM transaction or being able to have a 3D view of a product before you buy it. This patent allows us to control that experience in this growing market,” emphasized Curt Thornton, CEO of Provision. “We’re extremely excited about the approval of this patent as it protects the company’s key business model of integrating 3D displays into customer-centric kiosks, vending machines, or any devices that dispense products and services.”
