Nighthawk Systems (NIHK.OB) Teams Up with SkyTel

Wireless security product provider Nighthawk Systems (OTCBB: NIHK) share prices bumped up just over 12 percent to 11 cents a share this morning, thanks to the company’s recently announced partnership with Bell Industries (AMEX: BI) division SkyTel.According to a statement released by the company earlier this morning, Nighthawk and Skytel have “joined forces” in a mutually beneficial agreement to provide two-way telemetry solutions to customers utilizing SkyTel’s Wireless Network. Under this agreement, SkyTel and Nighthawk will bundle each other’s services into their own telemetry product and service offerings. This will significantly aid Nighthawk as it markets its own hosted telemetry solution platform later this year.

This agreement seems only natural, as both companies complement each other. Bell Industries’ SkyTel division reportedly offers nationwide wireless services and support, including e-mail and telemetry services, while Nighthawk Systems provides an array of unique, wireless power control systems that rely on exceptional reception.

Naturally, Nighthawk CEO H. Douglas Saathoff was glad to release the news.

“I’m extremely excited about this relationship with SkyTel, which has a long history of providing telemetry services,” Saathoff said in the statement. “It gives Nighthawk a reliable, nationwide wireless network on which it can seamlessly offer enhanced, two-way telemetry products and services. I look forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship with SkyTel.”

Nighthawk wasn’t the only one looking forward to the partnership. Jim Myers, the president of SkyTel, felt that the agreement would spell great success for SkyTel’s future.

“Through our agreement with Nighthawk, SkyTel is reinforcing its ongoing commitment to the telemetry industry,” Myers said.
