New 52-Week High for UG after Record Results « H E » MN1 Exclusive :: email posted Tuesday, 8 May 2007 By Bolton Flautt MN1 Staff Writer Record earnings drove United-Guardian Inc. (Amex: UG) straight up the charts to a new 52-week high. Shares of UG closed up $3.69 (39 percent) at $13.14 on volume of 217,800.Earlier today, UG issued a press release stating its “first quarter sales and earnings were the highest for any quarter in the company’s history, with sales up 48 percent and earnings up 87 percent over the same quarter last year, far surpassing the previous highs that were reached in the first quarter of 2005.”

Sales for the first quarter were $4.23 million compared with $2.86 million for the first quarter of 2006, and earnings were $1.16 million, or 23 cents per share, compared with $621,985, or 13 cents per share, for the first quarter of 2006. Also, UG reported first quarter cash on hand of $3.52 million compared with $3.03 million for the first quarter of 2006.

Some of the company’s products include the following: LUBRAJEL, a line of nondrying water-based moisturizing and lubricating gels; RENACIDIN, a urological prescription drug used to prevent the formation of and to dissolve calcifications in catheters implanted in the urinary bladder; and CLORPACTIN, a microbicidal product used in urology and surgery as an antiseptic.
