Cyclone Power Technologies (CYPW.OB) Close to Marketing External Combustion Engine

The cost of fuel is probably the main reason travelers have been searching for better engines. The reality is, there are a number of companies out there trying to better environmental engine technologies, but Cyclone Power Technologies (Pink Sheets: CYPW) believes it has the best solution available, and is very close to proving it.The Schoell Cyclone Engine was developed by Cyclone’s President and CEO Harry Schoell with the goal to develop a more environmentally friendly and highly efficient external combustion heat-regenerative engine.

The engine will be capable of running on any liquid or gaseous fuel, including ethanol and propane, and will be lubricated with water instead of oil. This technique should increase power and significantly lower emissions by eliminating oil pumps, radiators, catalytic converters and fuel injectors. Not to mention this should be much easier to operate and maintain.

Say goodbye to oil changes … just add water.

The company has already successfully bench-tested single and twin cylinder engines in the smaller power range and four 6-cylinder engines are currently being assembled. The company feels they are well ahead of the curve and beyond the proof of concept stage.

As mentioned above, many competitors are searching for a place in this race for “the” environmentally clean engine. However, CYPW notes on its Web site that a lot of this technology comes up short when compared to The Cyclone Engine.

CYPW argues that fuel cell technology runs on clean burning hydrogen, but the advantages are offset by the expense and bulk of the technology as well as the cost of creating, storing, and delivering fuel grade hydrogen.

Clean running electric vehicles are certainly enticing, but are limited to short ranges and must be recharged by electricity from a coal, diesel or nuclear fueled power plant.

Finally diesel and gas internal combustion engines are efficient, light, and cheap to manufacture, but they are dirty and hazardous to one’s health.

According to CYPW, The Cyclone Engine steps up in the areas all other competitors fall short.

The Cyclone Engine utilizes an external combustion where the fuel is burned in a controlled environment, similar to heating a home or electric power plants. The engine also uses an internal lubricant that is the same as the working fluid which is deionized water
