Sharps Compliance Corp. (SCOM.OB) Announces Record Revenues

Sharps Compliance Corp. announced record revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2009. Revenues jumped 26%, to $4.3 million, from the same quarter last year. Sharps also reported record customer billings of $4.7 million for the quarter, a 30% increase over the same period the year before. With the hardship being felt by the American people becoming ever more apparent, the Fed is now considering a cut in interest rates that would bring them to their lowest point in over four years. Oil Prices Down Despite OPEC Cuts

It seems investors have ignored Friday's oil production cuts as the price of light, sweet crude for December delivery slid roughly a dollar to $63.24 a barrel on the NYME on Monday. Commenting on the anomaly, was Darren Horowitz, analyst for Raymond James & Associates. When asked why OPEC's production cuts had seemingly little effect, he stated: "There are larger, long-term problems plaguing the market that a short-term production cut cannot overshadow, including softening demand, institutional unwinding and the credit crunch."
