Americas Wind up 16.3 Percent
Americas Wind Energy Corporation announced several new wind turbine orders today, pushing shares up 16.3 percent late in the afternoon to 63 cents a share. According to a statement from the company, the sale was originally passed earlier in July, when Iowa-based Waverly Light and Power approached Americas Wind about purchasing a pair of wind turbines. In response, Americas Wind sold the alternative energy company two of its AWE54-900 kW wind turbines for $3.4 million.
