Samsonite Gets Bagged by CVC Capital

Shares of Samsonite Corporation (OTCBB: SAMC) jumped up today after news of its acquisition by CVC Capital Partners surfaced. In early trading today, SAMC was up 11 cents (8 percent) to $1.44 per share on volume of 470,728 shares. SAMC entered into a definitive merger agreement to be acquired by funds managed and advised by CVC Capital, a leading global private equity firm. The all-cash transaction is valued at approximately $1.7 billion, including the assumption of debt. Wind Turbine Order “Blows” CPTC up 5%

Shares of Composite Technology Corporation (OTCBB: CPTC) closed up strong today after news of an order for one of its D8 wind turbines was announced earlier this morning. CPTC closed up 8 cents (5 percent) to $1.50 per share on volume of 1,543,927 shares. CPTC announced that its DeWind subsidiary has received an order from Sia Lenkas Energo, for one 2 megawatt (MW) DeWind D8 wind turbine for delivery to one of their projects in Latvia.
