GSI Technology (GSIT) Reports Q1 Net Income Nearly Triples

GSI Technology, Inc. (GSIT), a provider of static random access memory (SRAM) products used in telecommunications equipment, released Q1 2009 financial results today after the close. Revenues were $17.3 million, an increase of 53% year over year. Net income increased 173% to $3.0 million, or 11 cents per share, compared to $1.1 million or 4 cents per share last year. Analysts expected earnings of 7 cents per share on revenues of $15.3 million. While we all hear about the subprime home loan problems the banks are having, we have not heard about credit card write-offs. If a person was to default on a home loan, why wouldn't they just go ahead and stop paying on their credit cards?
