Business applications company NetSol Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: NTWK) announced it will purchase Ciena Solutions LLC. Despite a dismal third quarter GDP (gross domestic product) report, stocks were mostly up this Thursday, as the Dow index rose a respectable 189 points. The Commerce Department reported that the GDP slid at an annual rate of 0.3 percent during this year's third quarter.
