Greenback Falls, Sending Precious Metals Skyward

The U.S. dollar fell dramatically against other world currencies on Tuesday, boosting gold and other precious metals, which have been trading inversely to the greenback for several weeks. Even greater than that of gold, were the rallies seen in copper and silver futures. December-delivery copper jumped more than six percent to $1.955 per pound on Globex, while December silver rose to $10.40 an ounce, up from $9.75. Let us hear your thoughts below:

Wall Street Rallies as Election Draws to a Close

The end of the 2008 presidential campaign brought some relief to investors this Tuesday, as the Dow Jones Industrial average soared as high as 9,633 before 12:00 PM EST. Historically, gains on Wall Street are a characteristic of Election Day, although there were other factors playing into Tuesday's upbeat sentiment. Juhl Wind Inc. (Juhl) said today that it has purchased Next Generation Power Systems (NGPS) for 133,213 shares of Juhl stock. Juhl, which just went public in June, 2008, wants to take advantage of the anticipated growth in the demand for renewable energy sources. BioScrip (BIOS) Quarterly Revenue and Net Income Soars

BioScrip, Inc., the specialty pharmacy and pharmacy services provider, had a double dose of good news today with the announcement of exceptional second quarter revenue and earnings figures. Consolidated revenue grew to $348.4 million, an 18.2% increase over the same period last year. Specialty Services revenue shot up to $298.2 million, a 25.3% over the prior year. Even more impressive was quarterly net income, which grew to $1.6 million, compared to $.5 million last year.
